This could possibly be my last post for a couple of weeks as we are off on our hols to sunny Cuba, well I say sunny, don't laugh but we checked the weather and it does forecast some thundery showers !!! How very dare they do they not know I am coming for a tan and cocktails!!!!!
Not all of us are going as the eldest " doesn't do family" holidays anymore, oh no he will be off on his second jaunt of the year just after us, still he does have my parents staying at ours to keep an eye on things.
Not that I don't trust a 19 year old who leaves the oven on, leaves front doors wide open when going out, feels sick when cat food is opened and not too keen on lizards, no not too worried at all about leaving him on his own just didn't fancy coming back to starved animals and clearing up after wild parties!!! lol x
His not that bad really...............his worse - only joking!!!
Well enough of my waffle I have 20,000 things to do today not to mention wait in for a bike and fishing stuff to be delivered - doh!!
On to my card........
This is the other card I made for Reece's birthday, so difficult making for a teenager!!! but imagine my delight when I had a quick scout around and it actually fits into more that a couple of challenges - whoop!whoop!
A different angle just to prove it has been distressed I think I'm getting a little better at this but only seem to make boy cards when I do it!!

I have used some old Basic Grey papers and distressed the edges and inked to make them look rugged, think I have achieved the "look", added a couple of woodware brads (a must for those male cards) and a few staples thrown in too!!
I am loving this Martha Stewart punch Happy Birthday Deep Edger, everyone and their dog seem to be buying it at work at the moment so I guessed there must be something pretty darn good that someone has used it for so had better jump on the band wagon before it gets retired!!!
I will be entering my card into
Cupcake Craft challenge - Distressing (Have you seen my shiny new badge i got top 5 this week)
Papertake Weekly - sketch
Paper play - anything goes ( my second project for this week - compulsory)
Secret crafter - hot wheels
Well that's it from me folks I need to get my finger out and get organized but will probably end up running around like a headless chicken and achieve diddly squit as I am so excited, soooooooooooooo excited!!!
Toodle pop!!

Hi Suz,
ReplyDeleteHow funny when you said Cuba, I was in the Post Office and two women were saying thats where they were off and then I went to my "fat" class and a girl their said thats where she was going next week. Wow what is it about Cuba....Could it be the cigars!!
Your second Reece card is lovely, very boyish.
I know what you mean about his age group. My hubby and I are away for a weekend about three days after my Matthew is 18 (September)...Is it a good idea....NO, but we are still going. Have a super holiday and see you when you get back.

ReplyDeleteHope you all have a superly duperly holiday, and I don't blame you at all having your parents stay over, gives you peace of mind.

HI Sue
ReplyDeletethis will be the 4th time I have tried to leave a comment, (if it doesn't work this time the puter is going through the window, along with the i-top)lol. Love your card (I hate doing boys/mans cards), must be something to do with not being able to make them in Pink rotfl. Hope you have a great holiday, if I hear any really loud music I will drive past your place & make sure that your Mum & Dad are not having any wild party.
hugs
